[Reviewed on Vinyl]Man, what can say except this album stinks. Sorry and all--it's not the sonics, but musically speaking, there seems to be no variety here. Unlike their 1995 release titled 311, which had some great variety and good licks, 311's new album seems too monotonous for me. Admiringly, I love the cover art of the new album, Transistor, which is a vacuum tube! Unfortunately, the music on the vinyl leaves a bit to be desired. If you like good progressive jams with a reggae feel then I can highly recommend the previous album. Unfortunately the same just can't be said about the new album (unless you like repetition from song to song). Just when I felt it was a sure thing to buy a 311 recording too :-{(+
